Emily Sontag, Ph.D.
Principal Investigator
Emily is an Assistant Professor interested in all things Proteostasis. She earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine under Dr. Leslie Thompson. Emily did her post-doctoral work at Stanford University with Dr. Judith Frydman. The Sontag Lab started in 2020 at Marquette University.

Chloe Langridge
Ph.D. Student
Chloe is a graduate student studying how holdase chaperones interact with misfolded proteins and handoff to foldase chaperones.

Brandon is currently an undergraduate researcher in the lab.

Sarah completed her PhD entitled “Investigating the Role of Chaperones and Sequestrases in Misfolded Protein Sequestration” in 2025. She is currently the Senior Yeast and Fermentation Scientist at Molson Coors in Milwaukee, WI

Iveliz was an undergraduate researcher from 2022-2023. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Pharmacology and Physiology from the University of Florida. She is currently a Medical Assistant at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
